McKinley, Carl

Painting - Watercolor of wildlife and pastoral scenes.

Kentucky Wildlife Artist—Carl M. McKinley
Recipient of The 2007 CKAG Artist of the Year award

As a teenager, Carl began painting in oils, then turned his talents to watercolor and acrylics. His artistic interests gravitated to wildlife painting and pastoral scenes because of his love of the outdoors and nature. Realism, color, and accuracy to details are his trademark. He is self taught and says, "Any talent that I may have comes from God." Carl has paintings in several states, and his original painting, "Four Friends" (3 native American boys with a bear cub) hangs in the Beringer Crawford Museum in Covington, Ky.
