Mixed Media - Polymer Clay (2D & 3D)
I create both figurative and abstract panels that are matted, framed and ready to hang. Sizes range from 4x6 to 16x20. My favorite creations are 2D wall art pieces. Each work consists of a variety of rich premium polymer clay colors assembled using different techniques, some of which I have developed myself. My distinctive works are designed to stimulate emotions and thought by creating unique and interesting designs and using vibrant swirls of color that draw attention and allow your senses to simply "go with the flow".
I am a self taught artist who specializes in two dimensional (2D) and three dimensional (3D) polymer clay works. I was born in Los Angeles, CA and grew up in the Washington, DC area. I moved to Louisville in June 2009 and plan to make this my permanent home. I was juried into the LAG in March 2011. I am the proud owner of the Artistic Expressions Co. I currently work out of my home-based studio. I was first drawn to art because I have always been infatuated by brilliant colors and their affect on my emotions. My journey as an artist began with photography and has evolved through a variety of mediums along the way. I first delved into polymer clay back in 2004 while working on a project with my son. Ever since then, I have explored different techniques for using this medium. I participated in the 2011 LAG Annual Exhibit and won 3rd place for my 2D wall art, "Joyful Celebration". I was a participating artist at the 2011 September Art Fair at Mellwood Art Center, 2011 Highlands Festival, LAG Holiday Showcase 2011, the 2012 Woman's Club of Louisville Seventy-Fourth Annual No-Jury Art Show and the 2012 Brown-Forman Pride Fair.
